So next came the moment of truth....the Mid term. It was an essay test and we were given 8 question and had to write on the 3 of them...our choice. I ended up writing on the Roman influence on British Life and Culture, The Differences of the American and British Educational systems, and the influence on Britain being an island in its development. I had two hours which was hard for me because i can get quite verbose at times and i had a lot to say. It was up to the wire on me finishing and my hand hurt a lot from gripping the pen and writing furiously.... I know, thats a lot of drama for one test. It wasn't really that bad.
After that....I embarked on an adventure after realizing it was my Half Birthday. I know, thats not exactly that exciting, but it was just like a "oh....i'm halfway to 21" moment. So...in 6 months, i'lll be able to drink in the USA. I celebrated by going for a walk and ending up at the Staple Inn, a super old building that survived the great fire of 1666 (its OLD!) that led me through a little archway into a courtyard, through another archway into a garden with a fountain and then through more gates. Anyway, I ended up in Lincoln's Inn, very pretty. I ended up walking around there walking past the silver vaults and i eventually ended up in Lincoln's Inn Fields, a really cute park where I decided to be artsy and sit and write surrounded by greenery and serenity. Too bad they were running the woodchopper and my cell phone kept going off...thats peace. Anyway, i decided to give up on that and i'm glad that I did because on the way back to my flat...who drove by? THE QUEEN!!!!!
OH yeah, that was really cool, but you already know about that.
After that Stefanie and I embarked to Picadilly Circus to go to see a lecture by David Starkey on the monarchy. Quite interesting. I had a nice half birthday glass of wine and then we set off to find some sort of sweet....cake-esque. Since it was only my half birthday i settled for a bagel and some frozen yogurt....classy!!
It was a fun day of not wanting to go home and celebrating our freedom from school.
After that it was go home and try and clean/sleep for a bit. Because guess who was coming the next day???
MY MOM!
