Okay....so heres the scoop. In exactly 5 days I'll be hopping on an airplane and venturing off to a foreign country where I'm going to live for 3 months! Well....three months and a week to be exact. Luckily, the country is England, where they speak English...just like me. Except that the toilet is the loo, eggplants are aubergines, and a rubber is an eraser. Those crazy brits....
Anyway, this is my first time abroad, this is my first time outside of the country, other than that one time that I went to Mexico when I was like 6 and made the mistake of drinking an Ice Tea (thinking.....I know I'm not supposed to drink the water...but ice tea isn't water) Silly me...it all ended with me throwing up in the Alamo parking lot once we got back on the state side. But I digress....England!! That's where I'm going.
Here's the low down: I've been gone from home this entire summer, thus I must cram a summer's worth of packing and prep work into 5 short days, whilst saying goodbye to all of my friends. It's fun, let me tell you. My idea of prep work: sitting around, watching shows where the host is British, drinking tea (PG tips with Milk and Sugar), talking to David (my houseguest who hails from the land of kings and queens see the picture above..), and spending large amounts of money on clothes and things I need. That and agonizing over all the schoolwork (ie reading 4 books and writing a report on Shakespeare) that I should be doing right now. Packing right now consists of me finding every article of clothing I own and throwing it on my living room floor. I also decided to clean out my purse on said living room floor, creating a nice moat of stuff around the coffee table. My mom loves me right now....she keeps mentioning how nice and clean the house was whilst I was away at camp all summer.]
So....why the blog you may ask?? Because everyone I know that knows I'm doing this (going abroad that is...) has asked me to keep in touch and let them know what I was up to. Maybe this is a cop out on my part, but I've decided that it would just be way easier if I set this up as sort of a journal of what I'm up to on the spot...plus I can upload pictures so you all can remember what I look like...and see some of the british sites that I get to experience. SO....enjoy this as much as I hope I enjoy London.
Goodbye and God Bless
